Approximately 3 years after receiving my landed immigrant certificate, I verified on the internet that I am eligible for Canadian citizenship, and I began the procedure. This procedure is much simpler since you have already gone through the most difficult. It was fairly easy to fill in the form and add a few photocopies of passports and other documents required, nothing too difficult. The cost of this application is about 200$.

Once the application is sent, I received confirmation of receipt of my application about 3 months later. Approximately 1 year after my request, I was accepted to become a citizen and a few weeks later I received the invitation to the citizenship ceremony where a citizenship judge gave me my Canadian citizenship.

I attended the ceremony, I swore allegiance to the Queen of Canada and I took my citizenship and I sang the National Anthem of my adoptive country. I applied for the canadian passport and 3 weeks after I received my new Canadian passport. This is the end of my journey with Canadian immigration.
